1977-1992

The Beginning of the Nasa DNA

1977-1992

The founder, Makoto Murano, started Nasa Corporation when he established an overseas specialized trading company out of his yearning to be active in the world.

He started the company from scratch, and with his vitality and communication skills, built relationships with Japanese manufacturers of slicers, grinders, fryers, and Japanese confectionery incrusting machines, which were unknown in the world at the time, and exhibited at trade shows and visited customers in countries from Asia to Europe, exhibiting and building a footprint and track record. While building up our footprints and achievements, we have begun to spread Japanese food culture throughout the world.

It was the founder's determination and pride to work to provide society and people with bountiful food choices, words he often spoke with pride.

We have taken a strategy of overseas expansion focusing on Japanese food processing and packaging machinery, and while building bridges between Japan and the rest of the world, we have been able to steadily build the foundation of the company that we call Nasa.

Using the know-how of rice as a springboard, we will promote Japan's "OISHI" to the world.

It is no exaggeration to say that rice has had a broad impact on Japan's economy, social evolution, and culture.
It is associated with many delicious foods, from grains of rice to rice balls, sushi, Japanese sweets, and bento boxes, and is the base of a large business genre.
It was a time when Nasa was able to establish a wide range of partnerships with rice cooker manufacturers, shari molding machine manufacturers, and commercial kitchen equipment manufacturers. As a result of nigirizushi's push for mechanization, sushi restaurants opened one after another in Hong Kong, London, Paris, and other cities, and Nasa contributed greatly to the overseas sushi boom. Utilizing Japan's expertise in mass catering, Nasa participated in a project to provide lunches for tens of thousands of people in cafeterias of universities and major companies overseas, and the company grew steadily and made great strides in providing machinery for everything from individual machines to production lines and even factories.

In 2001, Nasa exhibited a triangular tea bag wrapping machine at the Tea Coffee World Cup in the Netherlands in cooperation with Fuso Sangyo Co. This was the beginning of the opening of the specialty tea coffee market in Nasa.
Nasa began to specialize in the tea industry, gathering and analyzing information from tea gardens, tea processing plants, packing plants, and market structure.
Nasa has been focusing on the division of labor within the company and the establishment of core systems, and has set up a tea bag mesh processing plant in Morocco to serve the European market.
In 2007, Nasa established a wholly-owned subsidiary in Beijing, China, to prepare for the potential of the Chinese market.
In 2009, Nasa completed its own building and moved into it as its headquarters.

In 2009, the founder Makoto Murano passed away and Tsutomu Angata assumed the position of Representative Director.

The company's business strategy was to focus on Specialty Tea & Coffee, and its goal was to provide high quality services, and the slogan was "to be the most appreciated company in the world in this industry".

In anticipation of the development of the tea and coffee industry, Nasa decided to move upstream in the supply chain, not only in machinery and sales, but also in packaging material factories, and established a specialized technical department as a machine technical support center to ensure that Nasa's headquarters and overseas offices receive the same level of technical support as the headquarters. We have also focused on the development of technical personnel, including those overseas.

FUSO, the original Japanese concept of triangular tea packs, became widely distributed and recognized on supermarket shelves around the world.
I decided to step down from the kitchen equipment industry and concentrate on specialty tea and coffee. We lost a lot of things in exchange for our focus.
The total number of employees exceeded 50.

Nasa's staff is not only Japanese, but also includes people from China, Kenya, Thailand, France, the Philippines, and more than a dozen other countries.

Hypothesis, verification, challenge.

The new coronavirus that began at the end of 2019 was a global pandemic that caused serious harm to people. There were many changes that accompanied the production process, the distribution process, and the operation of Ai technology in other industries, as telecommuting became more common.
The tea and coffee market is now in an era that demands a variety of changes in the future.
Nasa's daily efforts to meet the challenges of tea and coffee packaging, from bags, pouches, boxes, and cans, to the challenges faced by producers and machine suppliers, and how Nasa can play a role and stay ahead of the curve, will be a challenge. In 2020, Nasa will move from a trading company to a design and manufacturing company, and will establish a R & D department to begin the development of new equipment. The spirit of challenge is the source of Nasa's development and the origin that has supported Nasa from the past to the present, and will continue to do so in the future.
